Monica will join Tonia Hill to discuss why the best web designers take care of SEO as they design.
What will you be speaking about at Launch?
I’m going to be joining Tonia from Greenhouse Creative and we are going to be chatting all about designing for SEO and writing for design. A great looking and functional website is one thing, but it needs to get found by the right people and it needs to connect with that audience. That’s where great content comes in. So, we will be having a chat about how, as a designer, you can consider elements that support and boost SEO on a website, and, how as a copywriter, what things we can keep in mind that likewise support great design.
What advice would you give your 10-year-younger self, when it comes to your career path?
How beneficial it is to put effort into and maintain and to even seek out really good relationships within the industry, even with my own industry peers. It’s about community over competition. When we all do well, we all rise together. It’s about supporting, learning from and educating each other. It’s important to build relationships around referrals, industry collaborators, for both business and personal growth. It’s important to have a support network around you to chat about the good, the bad and the ugly.
Why should partners come to launch? What do you think they will gain from it?
It’s not only to hear from an amazing lineup of speakers, but to get to know others in your industry, to learn from others, to share some insights, and mainly to build those relationships with each other that you can lean on and come back to to help grow your own business and support your own clients. A big reason I’m going is to hear from others and ensure that I am staying on top of things in order to best support my clients.
